The Ohio State Highway Patrol Investigates a fatal crash in Jackson Township

 

Jackson Township, Ohio – The Canton Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a fatal crash that occurred today, July 26th, 2025, at approximately 1:20 PM on Frank Avenue near Mega Street in Jackson Township, Stark County.

 

The incident involved a 2000 Indian Chief motorcycle, operated by 58-year-old Larry A. Jeffries Jr. of North Canton, Ohio, who was traveling south on Frank Avenue in the center lane.

 

Also traveling south on Frank Avenue was a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado, operated by 24-year-old Luca Stambaugh, also of North Canton, Ohio.

 

Preliminary investigation indicates that the Chevrolet Silverado attempted to make a left-hand turn from the far-right lane onto Mega Street. During this improper turn, the Indian Chief motorcycle struck the driver's side of the Chevrolet truck.

 

Mr. Jeffries Jr. was transported to Mercy Hospital in the City of Canton, where he was pronounced deceased due to internal injuries sustained in the collision. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

 

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Jackson Township Fire Department, Reed's Towing, Belden Village Towing.

 

The crash remains under investigation.
